The Global Peace Festival is committed to help fulfill the Ninth Malaysia Plan in the areas of empowering youths as well as fostering family and community development. 3. Millennium Development Goals
Local and worldwide activities under the Global Peace Festival support the following UN's Millennium Development Goals:
* Every child has a bright future, good nutrition, medical care, education and freedom from war and oppression. * Principles of sustainable development. * Commitment to good governance * Rule-based, non-discriminatory trading system. * Reduce maternal mortality * Halt and begin to reserve the spread of HIV/AIDS * Eliminate gender disparity * Empower women * Ensure that all boys and girls complete a full course of primary schooling * Productive work for youth.
4. Music, Dance, Culture and the Arts
Music, dance, culture and art are universal language of peace and play a vital role towards inculcating positive values. The Global Peace Festival will bring together accomplished artists and rising stars to build national integration. 5. Building a Caring Society
To build a Culture of Heart, the Global Peace Festival highlights the universal values of the family as the school of love and peace, and promotes a Culture of Caring known in Malaysia as 'Masyarakat Penyayang'.
